Clinical Discussion

Angiofibromas are low-grade fibrovascular neoplasms, comprised of bland, uniform spindle cells, found in relatively dense collagenous stroma in the superficial dermis. They are common, often on the face (especially the nose), in middle-aged individuals.

Multiple lesions can be seen in certain syndromes, such as neurofibromatosis type 2, Birt-Hogg-Dubé syndrome, multiple endocrine neoplasia type 1 (MEN1), and tuberous sclerosis.
